4. Work Capacity -Work capacity refers to the training volume and intensity an athlete can tolerate while maintaining a steady recovery schedule and making positive training adaptations. Ultimately, an athlete's work capacity plays a significant role in dictating the level of strength, speed, and fitness an athlete can achieve. 

If an athlete seeks to improve continuously, they must enhance their ability to train at increased training volume and intensity levels.

5. Discipline - Self-discipline is the intentional regulation that enables individuals to surmount challenges and pursue successful results. It entails self-regulation, commitment to a structured plan of action, and the willingness to delay immediate gratification for the sake of achieving long-term objectives.


At Five Stones Barbell, we are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their fitness goals through a holistic approach. Our classes, offered Monday through Saturday, focus on the five key pillars of strength, endurance, resiliency, work capacity, and discipline. All classes include body composition analysis, macro nutrition coaching, and corrective exercise assessments, all within our conveniently located downtown Nashville facility.

Stewart Breeding Owner/Operator

Stewart Breeding is a master level trainer, strength coach & creator of his own methodology, "Holistic Performance" with more than 30 years of expertise in the fitness industry. 

Stewart's training approach has been deeply influenced by his experience as a combat veteran with the infamous 82nd Airborne Division and over three decades of coaching clients in competitive powerlifitng, bodybuilding, martial arts, Yoga, and meditation. 

Stewart has owned and operated brick and mortar training studios in Nashville TN for the last 18 years and consulted with dozens of fitness, wellness and performance centers around the country. 

Stewart has trained thousands of clients over the years to include special operations soldiers, elite athletes, artists of stage and screen, and corporate execs. Stewart is the Author of three books (Limitless) written in 2010 and the (Biohacker) written in 2017 and Total Warrior written in 2021.
